I agree with you that choosing language that does not include blanket statements is probably best. We need to explain to our 12 y/o girls that online pornography does not represent real life. Its fake, it’s a movie, and just like Star Wars, it is a fantasy depiction of what someone else believes is “cool”. Too many times we don’t have this conversation because we don’t know what to say. Be honest with your feelings. Share what you believe with your young person. Most importantly listen. Online pornography is a new challenge for parents; its ok to be a little unsure. That is why this forum is here!
Perhaps parents can offer here what their 12 y/o girls shared with them. It could be a big help to a lot of other people.
